About Me

Hello, I’m Aorupa – a photographer, graphic designer of 20 years and lover of all things creative! I find inspiration from the people I meet and the places I visit and enjoy nothing more than reflecting in my photographs a moment in time, an emotional feeling or something that is simply beautiful.

 

Growing up, I found my love for photography was sparked when I did dark room photography in my early teens and that fuelled my passion for capturing human emotions, whether it’s someone at a party crying with laughter or when a moment (and often tears) of pride on a very happy day – these are priceless moments to be framed in a picture and to be shared, cherished and enjoyed.

 

I’ve been photographing weddings for well over a decade and since this unique day is my speciality, I thrive in seeing how it draws together all things I love in life and my place in capturing moments that will be passed on for generations to come. Also, being a female photographer, I have some distinct advantages - particularly during parts of the day which would be difficult for a male photographer to have access (e.g. while the bride is getting ready in the morning) and can therefore complete the story from beginning to end without interruption. This has been most evident in the amazingly positive feedback I have received which shows how I can connect on a personal level, not just a professional one, and share the day with the bride in a unique and privileged way.

 

Making you feel comfortable on your big day is absolutely paramount, especially when your emotions can be running high, and aim to give you the best memories of your day without adding to the stress that may surround you. The images you will receive from me will be precious moments, authentic emotions and often in response to my encouragement to get those more camera shy to express themselves. Nothing is staged or set up, I photograph what I see and each wedding is unique and personal to you.
